One of the delights of the huge old pine-trees near my house is the flocks of sulphur-crested cockatoos they attract. They're raucous visitors - lots of loud screeches, but it's great fun to watch them play, swinging upside-down on thin branches and swooping over my roof. In quieter moments I can sit and watch how dexterously they use feet and beak to find all the tasty treats the pines have to offer.
Their visits are wonderful, but so are the quieter sounds of the magpies and smaller birds when the cockatoos move on! And of course, they all provide inspiration for my weaving.
